This free public education resource, created by the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory at the University of Texas at Austin, is providing Texas and the world with facts, stories, and images about people and places that made Texas what it is.

UTSA’s Institute of Texan Cultures is San Antonio's cultural experience museum, dedicated to enhancing the understanding of cultural history and its influence upon the people of Texas.

And while you’re in San Antonio, you would be seriously remiss if you forgot to visit the Alamo, site of perhaps the most famous battle in the history of Texas.

You’ll find a host of information on Texas history and links to other historical sites on the webpages of the Texas Historical Foundation. The Foundation supports research in and publication of Texas history and assists in the preservation of historic and prehistoric artifacts throughout the state.

There’s also plenty of Texas and Civil War history to be found in the American Memory collection of the U.S. Library of Congress.
